NV3550 transmission and Adapters
4 to 1 low first gear and .22% overdrive means excellent driveability both on and off road. This transmission is great as a daily driver and weekend wheeler. Smoother shifting than the NV4500 it provides a less “truck like” feel. Its smaller overall size lends itself easily to swapping in without the need for relocating the transfer case or driveline changes.

This transmission has a 300 lb.-ft Torque rating with a 7,200# Gross Vehicle Weight rating (11,000# GCW). Required to do this swap is an adapter from the transmission to a stock bellhousing complete with clutch disk and an adapter to the transfercase with shifter bracket, cross member mounting kit, shifter knob and shifter handle.

A 1” body lift eases installation.

Get the benefits of an ultra low first gear plus overdrive, for the best of both on and off road performance. A 5.61 first gear gives a great crawling gear for low speed trail duty while the .73 fifth gear drops the rpms by 27%! This means you can run trail friendly gears like 4.88s with 35” tires but still only be turning about 2000 rpms at 60 mph but have a crawl ratio of nearly 70 to 1! Drivability and fourwheelability all in one stout package.

With a massive 15,000 GVW rating at 450 ft/lbs or torque this transmission is beyond strong enough to handle whatever you throw at it. This transmission is found stock in many applications.

A 2” body lift is recommended for installation without heavy floor pan modifications.
